These are short comedy segments I made in college with my very funny friend Mike.

Home Seed Home (2001)

This was a class project, a 30- or 60-second ad. The first cut was 60 seconds but, like all advertising, spoof or not, shorter is better. The "tripfall" file is Rob's favourite outtake.

This follows my cliche ad formula of something bad/ridiculous happening, the announcer asking "Are you in XYZ situation?" and the poor on-screen fellow replying in as similar a way as possible, "I'm in XYZ situation!" I've used that more times than I can count, including the first "Stupid Little Stuffs" video Kris and I ever shot. My other signature is to blow up the Earth, but you'll have to look elsewhere for that.

Last Crash (2002)

Download:
last-crash.avi - 8.9M

Credit where credit is due, this was Rob's video. He took the same class I had earlier (see "Home Seed Home" above), and this was his 30- or 60-second ad. His first cut was also 60 seconds, and rather than clubbing me over the head when I suggested he cut it down to half, he gave it a shot and wound up with a tighter piece.

My cliche ad setup made it into this, though I can't remember if that's because I had a hand in the script or because Rob was doing an homage. :^) He always appreciated my videos and I always stuck my nose where it didn't belong, so either case is plausible.

Heaven (2000)

Download:
heaven-divx.avi - 6M

I made a feature-length movie in high school with a bunch of friends. It was awful, but we had loads of fun. We started going our own separate ways after graduation, but stayed close enough that we hoped we could make another movie, a follow-up "simultequel" (like a sequel, but its events take place during the original). We had shot a quarter or maybe a third of the movie, and I had already begun editing some of the effect-heavy scenes by the time the project fell apart. I have a copy of the original website dedicated to the movies here.

We've since wound up much further apart, but some of these guys still bring up the possibility of a DVD re-master of Moss (the movie we did finish) complete with commentary (good excuse for us to get together) and bonus material including this kind of stuff.

Henry Age 2 (2002)

Download:
henry.mpg - 21.3M

My cousin Kay's son Henry was the first baby of our extended family in a long time, and he got what may have been a slightly copious amount of attention. :^) I was in on it too, and he's still my little guy, even though he's not so little anymore.

The music came up in a Napster search for "Henry", believe it or not. (Now I've made myself sad, Napster was the best thing to happen to music until it was brutally crucified.) The original composer's name was Henry Mancini, and this theme from Inspector Clouseau as performed by the Oranj Symphonette. For length, I butchered the song, cutting out some tasty improv.
